Thrill Rider Lovers Get Ready New Rollercoaster Made Out of Old, Used Moving Pods
Rollercoaster lovers get ready for the most thrilling, yet unique ride to hit theme parks since the upside down loop. A new rollercoaster made out of old, used moving pods will be hitting local theme parks all over the country.

"We have been working effortlessly to create a rollercoaster that people would love", said Sam Pilgrim, an engineer who specializes in theme park rides. "We wanted to create something that people would love, but that was unique and new. Somehow we came up with using moving pods as a form of a rollercoaster car."
Moving pods are large, storage units that are used to help individuals move items from point A to point B. Over time these units can become rusted, worn, and need to be replaced with newer units. Sam Pilgrim has created a rollercoaster that uses these old units and makes them the cars for a rollercoaster.
"The rollercoaster that I designed is very similar to the old wooden rollercoasters", said Sam Pilgrim. "These moving pods have the top taken off of them, we add seats and wheels, and you have a rollercoaster car."
The old wooden rollercoaster idea has been designed using computer graphics. Sam Pilgrim and his team of engineers have started to build the first version of the rollercoaster at a small theme park in Ohio.
"We have everything we need on paper to see this work", said Pilgrim. "Now, we are just working on making it a reality. I think this type of ride will be amazing for people and thrilling."
Simulation videos have been made of what the ride would look like from a passenger point of view. These videos were leaked to the media, and have coaster enthusiasts excited.
"So many of the rollercoasters today focus on the extreme", said Katie Hallow, a self-proclaimed coaster enthusiast. "This type of rollercoaster takes people back to the older coasters. The ones that really made your stomach drop when you road them."
The simulation videos have worked successfully to have over 20 theme parks sign on for the new ride. It will take approximately 9 years to complete work on these rollercoasters. Each coaster will have its own custom made track.
"I am so excited", said Hallow. "I know I'll be first in line to ride the first moving pod inspired rollercoaster. I can't wait. It'll be so much fun!"
