Seattle, WA (prHWY.com) March 12, 2013 - The town of Ashville, Texas has a population of 10,000. The teenage girls of this small town often believe that they only have a handful of career opportunities available to them, but with the help of some new fun girl games these teen girls may have new possibilities opening up to them.

"We noticed that many of the girls that attended the local high school thought they could only enter certain career fields", said Daniel Gallows, principal of the local high school. "I wanted to change those girls' opinions, so I worked with a child/teen psychologist to develop some fun girl games that would help."

Daniel Gallows created several fun girl games that allow the teens to really get a chance to explore some new career opportunities. The virtual reality games place girls in different career fields, where they work on a daily basis.

"We want them to experience different careers", said Gallows. "We created these online games that allow them to feel like they are really working in those careers. It gives them a chance to see what it is like, or try something different."

After a girl holds a job in the online world for 2 months she has the option to try the career in real life. The high school has a partnership with women in those career fields and allows them to take the girls on a tour of their job.

"We want them to have real life experience too", said Gallows. "We allow them to tour the location where they'd work, see what they need to do to succeed in that career field, and other things. I really think we are opening doors for these children."

The program has been in effect for four years. Those four years have seen an increase in the number of girls who wish to attend college.

"We were having maybe 40% of the girls heading to college after graduation", said Gallows. "Now with the help of these fun girl games we see 99% of our graduating girls heading to college. It's amazing."

The girls of Ashville love these girl games too. There are some girls who pick one career and stick with it the entire game, while others jump around to see what other careers are like.

"It really gave me a chance to try things I'd never try before", said Molly. "I got to try being a CEO, a hair stylist, a publicist, and a chemist. I got to see what it'd be like to work in those fields and really get a game plan going for my future. It's amazing and a lot of fun!"
