The primary objective of the new Blakeney website is to provide an effective boat ferry service in the Blakeney Harbour area that will offer visitors a unique perspective in the lives of seals and other fascinating wildlife.
Blakeney Point Seal Trips, which operates in the beautiful and historic seaport Blakeney Harbour, offers visitors a picturesque view of the outstanding natural beauty of the North Norfolk Coast line.
"Our traditional clinker built ferry boat Ptarmigan," said Siemon, "was designed to take visitors on a fascinating voyage through Blakeney Harbour to the seal colony, where both Common and Grey seals reside."
"For the keen birdwatchers, there are many different species to be spotted there too, including Terns, Ducks, Geese, Gulls, Cormorants, Shearwaters, and Guillamots," added Siemon.
Speaking of wildlife, and in particularly the seals, according to Siemon, the Common and Grey Seals are based at Blakeney Point year round. The Greys produce pups in November to January, and the Commons take their turn in July and August. "Depending on the location of fish stocks, their numbers fluctuate, but it can be anywhere up to around 600 seals," noted Siemon.
Siemon also pointed out that the seals are accustomed to the boats, and due to their inquisitiveness, they often surface to stare and this rare sighting provides an incredible sight for visitors, who are on their one-hour, get a comprehensive history lessons on the area and its wildlife inhabitants.
