Are you purchasing quality furniture?
When it comes to purchasing furniture you have so many places to choose from. So how do you know that what you are buying is quality made?

So what are the things you need to consider? Well if you are looking to purchase a chair or sofa consider what the frame is made of. You really want to look for pieces that are made with sturdy hardwood frames like maple or birch and have been put together using wood rails that are double-doweled, glued and screwed so you are getting exceptional durability.
Next you want to consider what kind of padding they are using. You want to make sure that the padding is going to last and hold up to regular use. Ideally you would like to see 1.8lb or 2lb density highly resilient, premium quality foam. This will provide you with lasting durability and support, along with the most comfortable seating.
Delving even deeper into your furniture piece consider the suspension. If you have a great frame and padding, but the suspension isn't high quality your piece won't last. You would like to see a heavy-gauge sinuous and platinum coil spring system as this will provide individual support, comfort and durability. Find out if the springs have been acrylic dipped as this will prevent corrosion and squeaking.
Finally, lets focus on the pretty part of your furniture....the fabric. Make sure the fabric has been tested and you know the rub count. The higher the rub count the longer your fabric will last.
Taking these steps when purchasing your furniture all adds up and you will be able to enjoy your piece for years to come.
