London, United Kingdom (prHWY.com) March 15, 2013 - Interested in picking up a new hobby? One fun solution could be paintballing. If you are new to the sport, here are a few suggestions to get you started.
First and foremost, you either purchase the gun or you rent it from the paintball arena. If it will be the first time trying out this sport you might as well purchase a cheap one but, in the same time, of good quality. Some relevant examples would have to be the Tippmann 98 Custom or the Brass Eagle Striker.
Both these models are highly recommended for amateurs because not only they boast a lightweight construction, but these are also extremely easy to handle and effective. There is one more aspect to take into account when picking the gun because you will have to think about whether you will play tourney or woods ball since the two require different weapons. It is advisable to visit your local paintball field and try both styles before making a decision.
After taking care of the weaponry aspect, it's now time to focus on ammunition which is why you should focus your attention on a 200 round hopper. Since you are first-time player, you will need a propulsion tank (air, nitro or CO2) since this is cheap, easy to fill and purchase as well. For those that have played before and will be doing so in the future, it is recommended opting for anitro/air tank because nitro or air will not expand in the gun plus it's not sensitive to temperature which means you will benefit from consistent distance and speed.
You can play paintball at various locations where they have well-maintained paintball guns, skilled staff and necessary safety equipment. Speaking of safety, you might consider buying your own such as a barrel bag, as well as paintball gloves. You should know that it hurts quite a lot to get hit in the hand whilst pulling the gun's trigger. More importantly, such a hit can leave a nasty scar. You should also consider a mask such as a full headshield which will offer you optimal protection.
If you decided to buy your own weapon, make sure that you maintain it regularly. To do this you will have to buy various items such as gun oil, valve o-rings and a barrel squeegee. Make sure that you buy ones which come bundled with the necessary instructions so that you will know what has to be done. If you are willing to invest additional funds, consider a belt which can hold up to 1,000 paintballs or at least 700.
Don't know where to play? Do a quick search on Google and look for paintball fields and you will find numerous companies that offer such services worldwide. It is advisable to look for those which have some experience in this domain ... this way you will take advantage of what they have to offer not only in terms of paintball venues, but also equipment and assistance.
