Laurel, MD (prHWY.com) March 15, 2013 - Phoenix Industries, (PI) announced today that it has completed the manufacturing and shipment of one of their model AR200 asphalt rubber blending plants to Brazil. The AR200 is a specially designed plant used to produce a high performance, modified binder material called Asphalt Rubber that is used in the asphalt paving industry. Asphalt rubber, or rubberized asphalt as it is sometimes referred to, is a blend of asphalt cement (bitumen) and crumb rubber produced from waste tires. When used for the production of hot mix asphalt, creates a longer lasting and more durable roadway.

Director of Operations for Phoenix Industries, Kelly Sockwell stated, "We are very pleased with the shipment of this plant and have equipment working in over a dozen countries around the world, but this is the first to Brazil. We are starting to see more and more countries around the world embracing this innovative GREEN paving process and feel the placement of this plant certainly helps to strengthen our position as a leader in the industry."

In addition to the model AR200 that produces up to 20 tons per hour of rubberized binder, PI offers a smaller AR150 and a larger AR500 model that produce 15 and 50 tons per hour respectively.

Phoenix Industries is a leader for innovations in waste tire recycling processes and new technologies for asphalt rubber paving.
