There are so many genres of games such as educational games, paper pencil games, board games, online games, dice games, card games, lawn games, table games, video games, guessing games, business games and arcade games. In any era, games never lose importance from kids to teenagers and from teenagers to adults. Everyone tries to indulge himself into different kinds of games to refresh his minds. Since, the beginning games are considered to be major part of life and a vital way of exercise, they are always considered important. This article deals with insight of arcade games. Before talking in depth about arcade games lets see what exactly arcade games are.

Arcade game is basically coin operated machine which is usually fixed somewhere may be in a wooden box or a cabinet. The most common type looks something like fixed in tall box with monitor screen and control buttons in front. You can find them in amusement parks, play grounds, public houses, restaurants and video arcades. Now-a-days people have boxes and play stations to play games on but there was a time when there was very less technology and people used to go to video arcades to play arcade games. The method used was to place a handful of coins in machines in order to get few moments of pure entertainment. Arcade gaming house was considered to be a good business to do as there were so many gaming addicts who liked to spend their time in playing. These machines which were usually installed or fixed in cabinets were designed to attract the people towards them. Gamers usually were able to judge whether they were going to enjoy the game or not by simply looking at the control keys provided to play as there were less number of keys. The game was equipped with easy controls so that the players could find ease in playing and enjoying it.
On the other hand, if there are more keys and complex controls then a person would have to spend half of the time figuring out the functions of the keys. As there were no tutorials provided before playing the games therefore, the simplicity of the control was considered to be vital. Even today in some cases, same limitations apply especially on hand-held controls or devices where improvisation is mandatory in order to control the action in the game. Now so many tutorials, guide books and instruction manuals are available that people do not even bother to look for these simple control devices.

There was a time when arcade games were at the top. Somewhere in 1980's the popularity, earnings and innovation were at peak but with advancement in technology the golden period of arcade games ended. These games are still installed at so many places but they have lost their popularity. However, their electronic versions are getting popularity and there are numerous flavors of arcade games available on the internet.
