Wichita, KS ( March 18, 2013 - SendThisFile® today is announcing improved file transfer security, using 256-bit AES encryption for enhanced file transfers. The update strengthens the company's popular enhanced file sending mode, dramatically increasing security for users who send large files online.

"256-bit AES encryption, ensures that SendThisFile meets or exceeds the needs of the most demanding security and regulatory environments," said Scott Sexton, SendThisFile VP of Business Development. "Banking, legal, and other industries with high security requirements can send large files with additional peace of mind. "

AES is an encryption standard used by SendThisFile to protect files temporarily stored on file servers, which are used to distribute shared files. Once expired, files are automatically and securely removed from file servers. Prior to the update, SendThisFile utilized 128-bit AES encryption for transfers for its enhanced mode and 256-bit AES encryption for its classic mode.

"Relentlessly improving security is part of our company culture and is a hallmark of our service," said John Stephens, SendThisFile VP of Operations. "It is what allows SendThisFile to continually meet the stringent regulations and standards set by HIPAA, SAS70 Type II, SSAE 16, PCI DSS, and FIPS 140-2."

256-bit AES encryption security is automatically enabled and available today for paid SendThisFile customers.
