Sleep Under the Sea in New Water Chamber Beds Found at Vancouver Airport Hotels
Waterbeds gave people the chance to feel what it would be like to sleep on water, but what would it feel like to sleep under the sea? Newly installed water chamber beds in various Vancouver airport hotels give guests the chance to really feel

"These new water chamber beds really allow people to feel as if they are surrounded by the ocean", said Jane Truman, a marketing executive for one of the hotels. "There really is no real way to feel like you are sleeping in the ocean, except for these new beds."
The water chamber beds are unique in nature. They are designed to resemble real beds and come with soft pillow top mattresses, but it is what surrounds them that make them unique.
"Each bed is surrounded by a clear fish tank", explained Truman. "These fish tanks are connected to all the other fish tanks in the hotels and fish can come and go. It's these tanks that give people a feeling of being underwater."
Other things are done to each hotel room to give them a feeling of being under water. For example, all rooms come equipped with stereo equipment that allows guests to pipe in underwater noises.
"People have the option to have the sound of rolling waves piped into their room", explained Truman. "They can have whale sounds and several other noises. We feel that these give people the feeling of being underwater and they just love it."
People from all over the world have flocked to these Vancouver airport hotels in an effort to try out these new beds. The first weekend they were featured in the hotels all the rooms sold out. The rooms have been sold out for several months.
"It's really tough to get a room", said James Gallows, a traveler from Ireland. "I came all the way from Ireland just to try out these new beds. I had to make my reservation several months ago. I didn't think they would be that popular."
The Vancouver airport hotels are also making an effort to cater to people who might not like the enclosed feeling of the water chamber beds. Each hotel has over 100 regular rooms. These regular rooms are decorated with fish tanks and other underwater themed items, but do not have the water chamber beds.
