Could a Ball of Yarn Help Companies Improve Their IT Governance System
Major companies and corporations rely upon a complex IT governance system to help improve communication between departments. If this complex system were to go down, entire companies and corporations could be crippled and face a potential loss

Jordon Marrow has come up with a small project companies can do to help improve their IT governance system. This small project involves a little time and a ball of yarn.
"My goal with this project is to help companies understand what their IT governance system looks like and where they need to make improvements", said Jordon Marrow. "I have worked in the IT industry for over 10 years and I see companies and corporations that have no clue about their IT governance system. I want to help those people and companies improve."
The project requires that the company start at the base of communication. They start with a single colored ball of yarn and run that ball of yarn to one of the first departments or floors it communicates with. After the ball of yarn goes there, it switches colors and moves to another department.
"It sounds complex, but it really isn't", said Marrow. "The idea is to give each department a different colored ball of yarn. They run the ball of yarn to the different departments they communicate with. When the project is over, the head of communications can assess what the IT governance system looks like."
After the project, the head of communications can take a step back and look at how each department communicates with each other. The gaps in threads or lack of colors show the head of communication where there could be problems with their IT governance system.
"We had a major problem with our entire communication department", said a manager of a major corporation. "I used this project that James Marrow described and it worked wonders. I was able to figure out where there were problems with the communication system and how I could fix it. Now my company works and communicates better than ever."
James Marrow plans on taking this simple project on the road. He will host several lectures and seminars on how companies can use the information from the project to help improve communication between their departments.
"The whole goal is to help companies", said Marrow. "That is what I am doing with these projects and it's what I hope to accomplish with the lectures."
