However, the main feature of this natural gem is sighting the Common and Grey Seals, which are based at Blakeney Point year round. The time to spot these types of seals depends on their mating seasons: the Greys produce pups in November through January, while the Common Seals birth during the summer months.

The numbers fluctuate due to local fish stocks, but there can be anywhere up to 600 seals sighted at a time. There is no need to worry about scaring the seals or not being able to see one up close, as the seals are very used to the boat. Their natural curiosity often excites them to surface and stare at tourists from only a few metres away--an awesome sight for all the family.

During the trip, which lasts about an hour, the crew share their personal history and sights of this wonderful harbour, along with all the facts about the seals, birds and other wildlife.

Finding the ferry quay is relatively easy and food and rest rooms are available before your adventure. The quay is located just past the National Trust office and over three wooden bridges. The Ptarmigan is moored on the wooden jetties where you will see a Moreton's sign. You can easily spot the crew wearing mid blue tops with Moreton's seal trips on their fronts and they will be happy to guide you on your way.
