ETA introduces safe horse transport through Euro Tunnel
So far, the transport of horses going to France through the Eurotunnel has made vast improvement. Like traveling in other means, transporting them requires proper documentation such as container and road vehicle certification.

Sue Eggleton, owner and director of ETA said, "Transferring horses is a serious task that must not be taken lightly as they can suffer severely with the changes in their environment. Whether you are transporting them in short or long distances, careful attention must be given on them to avoid unnecessary effects on their health and condition. They are sensitive especially to temperature that traveling them during cold weather can make them lose weight from two to five hours every hour. It is especially happening when carrying them during hot season where they can have significant weight loss. Since 1996, we are committed in bringing continuous improvement on the safe transport of horses and ponies to their destinations. And now, we are happy to extend our horse transport services through the Euro Tunnel. This has made large improvement in the carriage of horses and had finally avoided delays due to weather conditions."
ETA is amongst the first and only registered Horse Transport companies to have gained access through the Euro tunnel. Eurotunnel is a DEFRA licensed transportation that has made carriage of horses shorter from Dover and Calais and has prevented delays because of bad weather conditions.
Traveling to Eurotunnel has made significant improvement including:
* No more interruption due to bad weather
* Considerable reduction in traveling time which is only 35 minutes through train against 90 minutes through ferry
* Less loading and unloading
* It has lessened stress to horses during shipping with no incidence of sickness
* It has made for the groom or the owner to travel with their horses
"So far, the transport of horses going to France through the Eurotunnel has made vast improvement. Like traveling in other means, transporting them requires proper documentation such as container and road vehicle certification. There are also appropriate standards for the transporter."
Aside from Eurotunnel transport service, ETA is providing road transport, ferry, stabling and international transport of ponies and horses.
