Roger Bearss Named Regional Coach of the Year Six Times
Roger Bearss coaches high school football at Millington High School in Millington, Michigan. He has had many successes leading his team to multiple championships.

Roger Bearss understands how it feels to be recruited as a high school student. He was once a high school student of Millington High School who in 1982 received an athletic scholarship to Central Michigan University. "Getting a scholarship to play for school was exciting both for myself and my family. It is the very reason why I push my athletes to play to the best of their abilities," says Roger Bearss.
After graduating from Central Michigan University with his bachelor's degree in education and his master's in educational administration, Roger Bearss began work for Frankfort schools. "I had lots of ideas of how I'd run my teams. Both the students and I worked hard to go as far as we could go. We won our district championship in 1995, 1996, and 1997," recalls Roger Bearss. During those years, Roger Bearss was named regional coach of the year by the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association.
"I've been named regional coach of the year a total of six times. Three times while I was in Frankfurt, once in Frankenmuth, and twice as the coach of Millington's football team," says Roger Bearss. Roger Bearss received recognition three times in 2011, once from the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association and once from the Tri-Valley East Football and the Tuscola County Advertiser.
He was named "regional coach of the year" in 1995, 1996, 1997, 2003, 2010, and 2011. Tri-Valley East Football and Tuscola County Advertiser each named him "Coach of the Year" in 2010 and again in 2011. "It was an honor to be named coach of the year. I put a lot of work into my roles and being recognized always feels good," says Roger Bearss.
