Chicago, CA (prHWY.com) March 27, 2013 - Adopt a family in need for 2013! Cindy needs our support as she goes thru dialysis and awaits her 2nd kidney transplant.

At the young age of 39, Cynthia (Cindy) Suzanne Hood is currently going through dialysis yet again. 9 years ago we found out that she would needs a kidney transplant. After three months of dialysis she was able to receive a cadaver kidney and was on the road to recovery. Unfortunately, cadaver kidney only last 10 years at the most and she is in the same position now. Cindy has been in and out of the hospital since July and 2 weeks ago she started dialysis. Our family is asking for support to assist Cindy, her daughter, and grandson with medical and health regime expenses and moving as we are trying to move her to Melbourne, FL. There she will have a better quality of life and a better environment to raise her family. She first went to the Doctor because of high blood pressure and her ankles were swollen. She knew something was wrong. The Doctor did blood work and it showed that she was spilling protein in her urine. The Doctor sent her to a specialist where he did a kidney biopsy that showed that her kidneys were failing. The Doctor told her that she needed to be on dialysis and then get a kidney transplant when a kidney became available. She was on dialysis for three months when they called her in for a transplant. She had the surgery and that kidney that was given to her lasted for 8 yrs and she did really well with it until now. Cindy has been in and out of hospital with kidney rejection and back in renal failure. She goes to dialysis three times a week for four hours each day while they connect her to dialysis machine to clean her blood and filter out toxins that her kidneys can't do anymore. Cynthia currently lives with her 17 year old daughter, Alexis and her grandson Ethan. Alexis will be graduating from High School this year. She is currently an A/B student and is attending a special school for mothers and will graduate with her nursing assistant certificate. She plans to go to college to study nursing.

From her sister: My mother and biological father adopted Cindy when I was only 1 years old. She came from an abused home. When my parents took her in she had pneumonia. She has been dealt a bad hand from the start. Lately she feels the weight of the world on her shoulders and has a hard time seeing the light and good in the world. It would mean the word to her to know that others are thinking of her and care. She has a lot to live for. I just want to see her happy and healthy again.
