Today's businesses are concerned about the increasing vulnerability of their critical data to more sophisticated and persistent threats such as malware and unauthorized access. Injazat Data Systems has highlighted how the current risk landscape requires a shift to a new intelligence-driven security management model during Secure Abu Dhabi Conference 2013, the latest edition of the UAE's premier information security event took place at Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the Abu Dhabi Polytechnic Conference Center in Mohammed Bin Zayed City, Abu Dhabi.

Kamran Ahsan, Head of Information Security at Injazat, delivered a presentation on the essential ingredients of an effective corporate information security program. Ahsan referred to Kaspersky lab's findings and stated that 1.34 billion cyber threats were detected in Q3 of 2012 alone. He added that several reputable organizations around the world have been subjected to account hijacking, CCTV hacking, distributed denial of service attacks and other breaches just three months into 2013.

At the same time, technology trends such as social networking, virtualization, cloud computing and 'big data' have been driving an unparalleled explosion of information. Ahsan emphasized the need for a transformed security approach in light of these major trends.

During the event, Ahsan also outlined Injazat's vision of End-to-End Risk Management via a robust Security Intelligence model that incorporates Context-based Security, Big Event Correlation, Situational Awareness, Historical Data Archive, Deep Dive Inspection, Activity Benchmark, Anomaly Detection, and an Advanced Monitoring System.

"Threats to critical information assets are rapidly evolving, harder to detect, and very persistent. Organizations simply cannot rely on traditional security approaches any longer; they need to embrace a paradigm shift towards a model that is risk-centered, context-based, constantly monitored and continuously response-ready. At Injazat we are developing solutions that incorporate this new model to prevent and address threats. We consider Secure Abu Dhabi Conference 2013 an ideal platform to promote an evolution in the information security space especially within the Middle East which is focused on transforming itself into a genuine knowledge-based society," said Ibrahim Mohamed Lari, Chief Executive Officer, Injazat Data Systems.
