Arundhati Roy is an Indian novelist and political activist popular known for her book The God of Small Things which won the Man Booker Prize for Fiction. She has been involved in the human right causes. She has written many novels and essays and is more of a social activist. She also won the National Film Award for Best Screenplay in 1989 for In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones. She has also been honored with the Sydney Peace Prize in May 2004 for her social and non-violence camps. She refused to accept an award of Sahitya Akademi Award for the essays she collected in her book The Algebra of Infinite Justice. She is a world renowned Indian Author in English.
