The Gray Areas of Family Law.
Thomas J. Petrelli, Jr., a top Philadelphia family lawyer with the law firm of Sacks, Weston, Petrelli, Diamond & Millstein, LLC, recently spoke on the issues of "The Gray Areas of Family Law."

His presentation focused on family law issues confronting married as well as unmarried couples who are dissolving their relationship but who have unresolved matters regarding the distribution of personal property, the disposition of retirement plans, crediting mortgage payments on property listed in only one person's name, joint property considerations for unmarried couples and tax consequences for either type of relationship.
Other topics included handling debt, dealing with the custody of children born to unmarried couples, what happens to the family pet if you divorce, step-children adoption and why prenups are so important for many couples.
Mr. Petrelli provides an overview of these important but often overlooked issues for which the law may not indicate clearcut answers in an online pamphlet presented in pdf form for anyone to review. He suggests how couples can resolve their differences and what the law does state about what you can do or expect in these situations.
