london, United Kingdom (prHWY.com) June 25, 2011 - The 54-year-old Potts who lives and works in London, has signed up for
Enduro Africa (October 16th, 2011) which raises money for four major charities: UNICEF, Sentebale (The Princes' Fund for Lesotho), the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund and Touch Africa. The aim is to raise at least £150,000 to help some of the poorest people in Africa.

Enduro Africa is a unique event in which a team of riders tackle some of South Africa's toughest off-road motorcycling challenges over eight days. It is supported by the global biking family and the motorcycle media.

Riders joining Potts will be catapulted into a long ride across arduous off-road trails which involve steep mountainous inclines and extreme weather conditions. It is both mentally and physically draining but all in a good cause which will change some of the world's poorest people's lives.

The money raised is split equally amongst UNICEF an international charity protecting children's rights, Sentebale a charity founded by Prince Harry that looks after orphans in Lesotho. Other charities include The Nelson Mandela Children's Trust and Touch Africa which supports schools in South Africa.

Each rider agrees to stump up £5,000 in personal sponsorship and hopes to raise much more. Over the past five years, Enduro Africa has raised over £1.3 million for its chosen charities.

The Potts website which details his attempt to complete the 2,000 km course is www.alansrideforlife.co.uk. He also has a Facebook page which will keep people informed on his progress: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Alans-Enduro-Africa-2011/138429456227589?sk=info.

Potts, who manages the successful BUYability range of online promotional websites, said:
"I'm really looking forward to this. It's got everything going for it. Not only is it a great personal challenge, but more importantly, it's a chance to raise a lot of money for some of the most disadvantaged peoples of the world. I've been delighted with the support of those around me, both personally and professionally, and we can all feel a sense of pride in what we are about to do."
