A few months ago, the annual World Car of the Year was chosen at the New York Auto show. Top competitors included luxury vehicles such as the BMW 5-Series and the Audi A8. However, Nissan dealers in CT were ecstatic to announce that the winner was the all-electric zero-emission Nissan Leaf.

With all of the hype for such an amazing green vehicle, the 2011 BolderBOULDER 10k chose the Leaf as its pace car. The race occurred on Memorial Day, May 30th, 2011 in Boulder, Colorado. Competing was Olympic runner Ryan Hall, who just achieved his personal best time at the Boston Marathon the previous month. Nissan dealers in CT were impressed at his 2 hour, 4 minute and 48 second finish time. Nissan and Hall worked in conjunction at the race to offer training tips and sign autographs as well.

Nissan has been working diligently to get involved in communities across the States. As a part of sponsoring the Bolder BOULDER 10k race, Nissan launched the Innovation for Endurance program. The Leaf will be featured in more prestigious fitness races around the country. The program's focuses include innovators in the health and fitness market providing useful advice.
