Jersey City, NJ (prHWY.com) July 15, 2011 - Government study reveals no defect on 2009/2010 Toyota Corolla

Your local Jersey City new car dealer is proud to report that the US government has closed its investigation into the possibility of a defect associated with the Toyota Corolla. The results of the study by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) have been released and show that the agency found no electronic-related steering defects that would compromise safety in 2009 and 2010 Toyota Corolla models.

The Corolla steering investigation began in 2010 and lasted nearly 15-months; its scope included nearly 750,000 vehicles manufactured here in the United States, including both the Corolla and Matrix. At the close of the study, the NHTSA has revealed that there was no defect found in the electronic steering of 2009/10 model and since its one of the centerpieces of our line-up, we couldn't be more proud of how the Toyota Corolla performed!

These results come on the heels of other good news for our brand. Earlier in 2011, the NHTSA concluded that Toyota's electronic throttle systems did not contribute to the safety crisis over runaway vehicles that engulfed Toyota in late 2009 and in 2010. Together, these two studies help restore customer confidence in the brand that has built its reputation on safety and reliability.
