Recently Mayor Bloomberg and the city of New York set out to find a new cab provider that would supply the "Taxi of Tomorrow." After years of bidding and proposals, Mayor Bloomberg has announced that Nissan Motor Company won the 10-year, $1-billion contract to provide thousands of taxis to the city beginning in about two years! Nissan will use the NV 200 to fulfill this large contract, which calls for the automaker to replace the city's cab fleet as well as replace the vehicles as needed. The contract notes that cab operators need to replace about 2,600 vehicles a year on average and Nissan will need to keep up with these demands.
