Sign up for a beautiful tour of the harbour today. Blakeney Harbour offers mesmerizing and splendid views of the coast and is a part of the historic North Norfolk Coast that is renowned for its natural and scenic beauty. The ferry service from Blakeney Point Seal Trips is immensely sought after by visitors and tourists throughout the year.
They ferry people across in their traditional clinker built ferry boat called the 'Ptarmigan' that is sturdily built for a trip of the harbour. The boat is moored at Morston Quay,on the wooden jetties after walking past the lower car park area and the National Trust office. After three wooden bridges, there is a Moreton's sign and tourists can find the crew who wear mid blue tops with Moreton's seal trips on the front.
There is plenty of variety for bird watching enthusiasts. Blakeney Harbour and Morston quay is the natural habitat for a number of birds too. Apart from seals, nature lovers and bird watchers can also spot different species of birds that include, but are not limited to ducks, cormorants, gulls, geese, shearwaters, terns, and guillemots.
People can look forward to a fascinating voyage aboard the fully equipped and recently refitted boat manned by a fully qualified skipper. The tour lasts an hour with interesting facts about the history of the harbour, the seals, the birds, and the surrounding areas.
Blakeney Seals Point can be spotted at Blakeney Point throughout the year. There are colonies of Common and Grey seals that reside in Blakeney Harbour. Animal lovers get a rare and close up glimpse of these sea creatures in their natural habitat while they are on the ferry. The Common seals give birth to pups during the months of July and August while the Greys reproduce from the months of November till January. Their numbers keep fluctuating depending on the availability of food, which is the local fish stock. On an average, around six hundred seals can be found at Blakeney Seals Point. These seals are used to the boat and they can be spotted a few meters away, peeking through the water.
