Plans for new model continue to materialize

Jersey City, NJ (prHWY.com) July 21, 2011 - One of our most prized models at Toyota is the Prius hybrid and we are proud to say that its family is in the process of being expanded. Among the new additions are the Prius V, the Prius plug-in hybrid, and the Prius C. The Prius C, designed especially for city driving, will act as our most fuel efficient and most affordable green offering. As the third variant of the Prius to be released, the C will be a five-door, all-wheel drive hatchback. It will measure 100 inches wide and 156 inches long, making it slightly larger than new and used Toyota Yaris vehicles.

The Prius C will be powered by an updated 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine which will be equipped with Toyota's new THSII system. The vehicle will also house a lithium-ion battery pack under the rear seats and will feature a brand new front end.

We expect the Prius C to become available in the spring of 2012, and other members of the Prius family to be available starting this fall.
