Science teachers benefit from Toyota's generosity

West Palm Beach, FL (prHWY.com) July 26, 2011 - Delray used car dealer, Palm Beach Toyota, is pleased that Toyota supports science education in United States' schools by awarding financial grants to science teachers via the TAPESTRY grant program. The grants are awarded to elementary school, middle school, and high school science teachers who demonstrate original, risk-taking, creative, and excellent education of their students.

Science teachers submit their proposals for science projects to the TAPESTRY association, the largest grant program for science teachers in the United States. TAPESTRY judges review the teacher's environmental science proposals and then select the fifty most worthy science teachers or teams of science teachers to each receive a Toyota sponsored $10,000 grant. The teachers then use the money to implement and fund their proposed project. This program has been in effect for twenty-one years and a total of over $10 million has been awarded to nearly 1200 teachers.

Vice president of philanthropy at Toyota, Michael Rouse, says that it is extremely rewarding to support exceptional teachers' efforts to provide improved science education in the classroom.
