Gandhi To Hitler premieres in India on 29th July

Gandhi To Hitler, Bollywood's first tryst with the German dictator is all set to premiere in the Indian sub continent on 29th July. The film is produced by Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma under the banner of Amrapali Media Vision.

Mumbai, India (prHWY.com) July 26, 2011 - After rave responses in the Berlin and Cannes Film Festivals, India's first ever film on Adolf Hitler, Gandhi To Hitler is ready for release. The film will premiere in India on 29th July Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma has produced the film of under the banner of Amrapali Media Vision and is directed by Rakesh Ranjan Singh. The other credits of the film include Arvind-Lyton who has created the music for the film while Dr. Pallavi Mishra has penned the lyrics. Singers Daler Mehndi, Jagjit Singh, Shaan, Penaz Masani and Bhupen Hazarika have rendered their voices for the songs in the film. The title of the film has been changed for the Indian release from Dear Friend Hitler to Gandhi to Hitler as the original name sparked off some controversies.

Gandhi to Hitler that has garnered appreciation from all corners is based on the contents of two letters written by the great Indian leader Mahatma Gandhi to the German dictator, Adolf Hitler during the Second World War. Gandhiji wrote the first letter to Hitler, with the hope of averting the Second World War while the second letter was written when Hitler was nearing his downfall.

Gandhi To Hitler showcases the last days of Adolf Hitler (Raghubir Yadav) through the eyes of a young Indian couple, Balbir (Aman Verma) and Amrita (Lucky Vakharia). The film spells out the German leader's insecurities, his charisma, his paranoia, and depicts his relationship with his close associates including that with his trusted aide, Joseph Goebbels (Nalin Singh) during the last few days of his life that he spent in his underground Führer bunker. The film also brings forth Hitler's romantic relationship with his long time companion Eva Braun (Neha Dhupia) whom he married in the bunker just a few hours before the couple gave up their lives. How the Nazi leader dealt with betrayal and defeat at the most crucial time of his life has been brilliantly translated into celluloid in the movie. Though set in the backdrop of the Second World War, the film is not a typically war film. It just brings across the fate of millions that was affected by the choice of divergent ideologies by two different leaders, Gandhiji's non-violence and Hitler's disastrous dictatorship. The film does not glorify Hitler or his Nazism but depicts Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Avijit Dutt) as the hero, who led India to freedom with non violence.

Gandhi To Hitlerr aims to spread the message of world peace by pointing out the stark contrast of ideologies of two world leaders. Mahatma Gandhi led India to victory with his non violence, while Hitler's brutal and ruthless tactics lead to his disastrous downfall.
