CAT 2010 from Oct 27 & Nov 24; Registration from Aug 30

The official CAT 2010 notification got released on Sunday, August 22, 2010. The computer based test for this year will be held in a 20 day window between Wednesday, October 27, 2010 and Wednesday, November 24, 2010.

Noida, India (prHWY.com) August 25, 2010 - The official CAT 2010 notification got released on Sunday, August 22, 2010 on all the national dailies and the CAT official website, www.catiim.in. The computer based test for this year will be held in a 20 day window between Wednesday, October 27, 2010 and Wednesday, November 24, 2010. The registration for CAT 2010 and the sale of CAT 2010 Vouchers will start from Monday, August 30, 2010 and the last date to register is Monday, September 27, 2010.

CAT is the entrance exam for the nine IIMs and about 150 other MBA institutes in India for their MBA programs.
The duration of the test is a two-and-a-half hour including the 15 minutes tutorial. CAT 2009 had 60 questions in all three sections namely Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability and Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning.
Eligibility for CAT 2010
According to IIMs, the candidate should be a graduate with at least 50 per cent aggregate. "Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply," says IIMs.
Registration for CAT 2010
The sale of CAT 2010 Vouchers will start from Monday, August 30, 2010 till Monday, September 27, 2010 in select Axis Bank branches. The price of the voucher is Rs. 1400. "A candidate needs to buy only one CAT 2010 Voucher irrespective of the number of institutes he/she is applying to," mention IIMs.
While buying the CAT Voucher, you must buy it in the name which appears in your school leaving certificate. "f the name has been changed due to events such as marriage, the candidate must show the relevant document such as a marriage certificate and submit a photocopy at the time of the test, interview and at the time of joining a program," IIMs say.
IIMs also add that "SC and ST candidates must show a copy of their SC/ST Certificates at the time of obtaining the CAT 2010 Voucher from the Axis Bank branches."
The voucher is not refundable and if it is lost or damaged, the candidate has to buy it again and re-register.
After purchasing the voucher, they should visit www.catiim.in to register for CAT 2010.
CAT 2010 test centers
CAT 2010 will be conducted in 33 cities. These centers are Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Durgapur, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Navi Mumbai, Noida, Patna, Pune, Ranchi, Shillong, Siliguri, Varanasi and Vishakhapatnam.
CAT 2010 Results
The scores for CAT 2010 will be declared n Wednesday, January 12, 2011 from the CAT website.
