Classic Jeep model now more fuel efficient than ever

For the 2012 model year, Jeep made a few changes to the loveable Wrangler. Perhaps most notable among these changes was the switch to an all-new Pentastar V-6 engine. This new engine will be more fuel efficient than the outgoing V-6, which is welcome news to any driver.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the new two-door Jeep Wrangler will be capable of earning 17 miles per gallon in the city and 21 miles per gallon on the highway with both the five-speed automatic and the six-speed manual transmissions. As for the four-door Unlimited model, the EPA estimates it can earn 16/21 mpg city/highway with the manual transmission, and 16/20 mpg city/highway with the automatic. These figures are compared to the outgoing Wrangler which earned 15/19 miles per gallon city/highway.
