Fall Wedding Trends 2011
With the summer season quickly coming to an end, I thought we should focus on the 2011 Fall Wedding trends: 1. Something Old 2. Go Green! 3. The Modern Bride 4. Hands On

With the summer season quickly coming to an end, I thought we should focus on the 2011 Fall Wedding trends. The autumn months are a beautiful and popular time to get married; with the crisp foliage, cool evenings, and outdoorsy attitude, getting married in the fall just seems so right. So after performing a little research and talking to our upcoming fall brides, here are a few trends we think are going to be hot, hot, hot this season!
1. Something Old: Vintage touches add a nice twist to the modern day wedding. For example, vintage inspired wedding dresses are always beautiful, whether they have a touch of lace or the traditional cap sleeve, the vintage wedding dress looks good on every woman! Also, choosing retro textures and patterns adds some personality to a wedding. Retro patterns would be a great touch for table linens or even on bridesmaids. Or consider the newest wedding trend...the photo booth! Photo booths can be rented in both modern day and vintage looking styles, and are also great favors for your guests.
2. Go Green!: Not only are environmentally friendly weddings still in, but they great ideas for weddings on a budget. You can go green in pretty much every aspect of the wedding, from clothing to lighting and favors. Touching back to the first trend, thinking second-hand, is a great way to dress everyone in a bridal party. The bride can get a vintage dress, the groom a vintage suit and the whole bridal party can make a day of thrift shopping! Or, consider using recycled paper for invitations, programs, menu cards, etc. Also, instead of a traditional favor, charity donations are an incredible and popular option, and are something that every guest can appreciate and support! Even when it comes to planning weddings it's always important to remember the three R's...REUSE, REDUCE, & RECYCLE!!
3. The Modern Bride: Contemporary weddings are also still in. Brides continue to focus on the non-traditional dresses such as: short white cocktail inspired dresses, dresses with old shoulder styles as opposed to strapless, and hues other than white or ivory. Even in the reception room, brides and grooms are opting for different table shapes and sizes over the traditional round 10 top. Also, many themes include bright colors, the laid back lounge setting, cupcakes instead of the traditional tiered cake, and allowing bridesmaids to choose different dresses in the same color.
4. Hands On: DIY, "Do it yourself" weddings will continue to be a popular trend and great for couples on a budget. Not only does it help save money, but it adds a nice personal touch to the big wedding day. Consider making your own invitations, creating your own centerpieces, or creating your own romantic lighting with candles spread throughout the wedding space.
