Preparing for Hurricane Irene
The South is bracing for Hurricane Irene, currently a Category 4 Hurricane. There a few simple yet sometimes over looked precautions you can take to prepare.

* Visit http://www.noaa.gov/ National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration for the best and most accurate forecast. They also provide up to date information on Tides, Atmospheric conditions, storm warnings and mall.
*Make sure your cellular device is fully charged. Have a filly charged spare battery stored away for emergency use only.
*Make sure you have extra batteries for all flashlights. Purchase LED flashlights as those bulbs are brighter and last much longer.
*Store all outside furniture in your garage, shed, or anywhere in doors. If you cannot bring the furniture inside then be sure to secure it away from any windows.
*Fill empty water bottles with water and fill in empty spaces in your freezer. This will keep it cold longer if you do lose power.
*Have candles and matches on hand but use cautiously. You do not want them to start a fire.
*Talk to your children now so they won't be as scared if the power does go out
*Lower your A/C a little now so they house stays cooler longer
*Set your freezer and refrigerator to their lowest settings so they stay cooler longer
