Fresno, CA (prHWY.com) September 4, 2011 - VSA has recently said that so called made-in-Vietnam Steel pipes can face some actions from the American enterprises. At the same time, Indonesian authorities were also making some investigation whether these Vietnamese cold-rolled steel rods or pipes were dumped in their market.
In addition, VSA said that cold-rolled steels which were exported to Indonesia were primarily manufactured by the Posco Vietnam Cp. Ltd which started a new plant the previous year.
In accordance with some source from VSA, it has been come to know that Indonesian enterprises are protesting against the large amount of import of cold-rolled steel into their country. Apart from this, they have claimed that it has affected their steel makers adversely. Not only this, VSA has sent the document in which they have asked the Posco to give them with satisfactory explanations regarding this issue.
As per the Luu the Hung, who is a deputy director and in charge of external affairs at the Posco Vietnam Company Ltd., his company has received some official documents from Ministry of Industry as well as from VSA. He was preparing the papers so that a reply can be sent to Indonesia.
He explained the low cost of the steel products of his company and said that Posco Vietnam has managed in cutting the costs by lowering its production process as well as sourcing cheap materials.
However, Hung didn't reveal the quantity of cold-steels which were exported to the Indonesia. He presumed that the steel market share of Indonesian Company was very low as compared with the rivals from Japan and China.
In the mean time, steel from Japan, Korea and China was also being examined for any possible anti-dumping action. They were examined because Indonesian steel enterprise has filed a complaint against them in which they said that imported steel was sold below the actual costs as well as the imported amount was strongly increasing.
In the year of 2010, Indonesia nearly imported 900,000 tons of cold-rolled steel. This was about 60% above the previous year. This steel was majorly used in building, furniture and auto industries.
