Hartford used car dealer sees potential for growth

The Four Seasons Hotel launches the Nissan Leaf electric vehicle as a rental.

West Simsbury, CT (prHWY.com) September 5, 2011 - Electric vehicles (EVs) have begun to rise in popularity as they have become more widely available. Solar charging stations at dealers and even taxis have started an electric revolution in America. Keeping this in mind, the rental car industry is huge in the States, leading Nissan to get in on the action with their own EV, the Nissan Leaf. To the joy of Hartford used car dealers, the Four Seasons Hotel in San Francisco has now combined EVs and the rental car business. Hartford used Nissan drivers hope that this trend will soon catch on with the rest of nation.

Paired up with Enterprise Rent-A-Car, the Four Seasons will be offering the all-electric Leaf to renters on the spot. The hotel is set to install a charging station within its compound as well for convenient use for hotel guests. As a company, Enterprise is running the largest EV program in the US, much to the excitement of Hartford used Nissan owners.

Enterprise's vice president and general manager, Leonard Almalech, has weighed in on the program's progress. "Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco is Enterprise's first hotel partner in San Francisco to offer electric vehicles to its guests through our rental program, which speaks to our shared commitment to provide our customers with the highest quality offerings and service. This is a chance for our customers to experience EV technology, whether it is for a quick test drive, a fuel-efficient rental or just to learn more about the new technology."

Used car dealers believe that using the Leaf as a rental is a great way to spread the news about the wonders of the EV. Each Leaf charge is estimated to get about 100 miles.
