Sleeptight recycling proving a popular alternative to traditional landfill

Sleeptight recycling services are proving to be a hugely popular choice amongst our customers.

Harrogate, United Kingdom (prHWY.com) September 12, 2011 - Sleeptight recycling services are proving to be a hugely popular choice amongst our customers. Launched at the start of 2011 the service aims to reduce the amount of product we used to send to landfill by up to 50%. The service is proving so popular with our contract hotel mattress and contract mattress customers that Sleeptight are currently speaking with several recycling companies to create a purpose built plant in Yorkshire.

The mission of Sleeptight Contract Beds recycling services is to ensure we reduce the amount of product the business sends direct to landfill sites across the UK. The purpose of the service is to recycle, reuse or generate energy with the entire contract bedding materials we collect.

Since the launch of the service we have collected close to 50 tonnes of waste including mattresses, divans and contract furniture. Most of this would have traditionally been sent direct to a local landfill site but under the supervision of the recycling team at Sleeptight Contract Beds we have been able to recycle a large proportion of this valuable waste. Once collected from our customers sites the contract mattresses which can consist of up to 18 different single parts are deconstructed by hand and separated in separate parts. The parts, which are recovered, are cleaned and distributed back into their respective manufacturing or energy industries thus offering landfill avoidance.

Our customers include Local authorities, housing associations, large hotel chains, privately owned hotel boutiques and bed and breakfast establishments.
