However, in Botox, the botulinum toxin is diluted to a safe level for injection into humans. To manufacture it, the bacteria clostridium botulinum is allowed to develop and spore, and this causes the neurotoxin responsible for the paralysis of the muscles. Once the spores form, they emit the Botulinum toxin which can then be collected. The botulinum toxin is then so diluted that little of the actual toxin itself can be injected into the body. BOTOX® works by paralyzing the muscles in your face. Skin that cannot move cannot form lines and wrinkles.
