Soundtrack - New Musical Love Story Based Movie

Soundtrack is an edgy film that depicts the life of a very talented musician and DJ. It tracks his meteoric rise through drug, sex and alcohol as he deals with his own problems. Directed by Neerav Ghosh, the film has Rajeev Khandelwal, Soha Ali Khan

Mumbai, India (prHWY.com) September 21, 2011 - Soundtrack is the story of a prolific musician and DJ who comes to Mumbai with, just a guitar, a pair of headphones and dreams to make it big in the world of music. He manages to bag a job at one of Mumbai's most happening night places and life chanes for him. He is surrounded by music, gorgeous girls, parties and alcohol. But with big dreams in his eyes, he wants to compose music for mainstream Hindi films. But destiny has something else in store. He goes deaf due to Tinnitus coupled with an over exposure to loud noise. It is in this condition that he meets Soha, who is a speech therapist and helps him to pick up the pieces in his life. She makes him listen to music with his soul. What follows remains to be seen in the film.

"I have worked on this film for three-and-half years, acquiring remake rights of the original film ('Its all gone Pete Tong'), adapting the story for the Indian audience," Neerav said."It was emotionally exhausting. I know your first film takes time as you face some glitches like getting finance, etc. In my case the transfer of rights and getting finance for the film took time. But I just kept going." Neerav feels that even the audience will be able to relate to the subject. "There are a lot of relatable things in the movie like struggle, getting back on your feet," he said.
The film is a low budget film. But this does not perturb Rajeev Khandelwal who was last seen in Bejoy Nambiar's film, Shaitan and was much appreciated for his portrayal. Says Rajeev,"I am an actor who wants to do exciting things, want to be part of good cinema, irrespective of the budget. I do not think a good film is made by good budget...a good film is made by good intention. If the film demands that kind of a budget then it should be assigned that kind of budget. But the budget of the film does not decide the quality of the film."
