Online tour operator ActivityBreaks.com has announced an increase on early bookings for skiing-holidays for the 2011/2012 season.

Belfast, United Kingdom (prHWY.com) September 23, 2011 - Online tour operator ActivityBreaks.com has announced an increase on early bookings for skiing-holidays for the 2011/2012 season. Compared to the period of June - August 2010, ski bookings this year have increased by 4%.

Instability in countries such as Egypt, Tunisia and Greece, combined with a strong Euro and even the royal wedding have all been blamed on making life difficult for tour operators targeting the British and Irish holiday markets during the summer months, with many people choosing a "staycation" ahead of going abroad. This resulted in a 3% fall in sales value.

For example the Italian resort of Montecampione reports a 22% increase in early bookings from the 2007/08 ski season.
