Ramsay Healthcare sees the start of major developments

MP for Epsom and Ewell, Chris Grayling, was on hand to cut the ribbon at the official opening of the new Ashtead Hospital reception.

----, CT (prHWY.com) October 17, 2011 - MP for Epsom and Ewell, Chris Grayling, was on hand to cut the ribbon at the official opening of the new Ashtead Hospital reception. CEO Jill Watts and General Manager Douglas Watson also attended the ceremony on Friday, October 6th.

MP Chris Grayling said:

"This is a fabulous facility. I know that by the time Ramsay Healthcare have invested in all the different clinical treatments this is going to be a real beacon of care. It's nice to hear a hospital talking about the long-term future rather than the short term. To have a long term investment and owner is really good and I'm delighted that you are making that commitment."

Ashtead Hospital, situated between Leatherhead and Epsom, is one of Surreys leading private hospitals. The developments at Ashtead Hospital, which comprises of 53 single rooms, follow news of a major rolling investment programme at Ramsay hospitals.

The exciting developments will continue to improve facilities and make sure the best in patient care is provided across all 22 hospitals, 10 NHS Treatment Centres and 3 Neurological units.

Tim Pearl Development Director at Ramsay said:

"This year a major rolling programme of capital expenditure has started. Staff and patients want us to provide the very best facilities in the independent sector and the work at Ashtead and at our other hospitals aims to achieve this".
