Palm Coast Volkswagen dealers appreciate CEO's optimism
Volkswagen CEO predicts profitable U.S. sales this year.

Browning told the Society of Automotive Analysts that Volkswagen's Audi-brand sales turned profitable last year in the United States, and expects all of Volkswagen to follow suit.
Furthermore, the German automaker also hopes that all of its U.S. operations will be profitable by 2013 - which has not happened since 2003. In any case, Port Orange Jetta owners and shoppers are surely curious to see what unfolds.
The reason for Browning's optimism is due to an improved U.S. light-vehicle market - up to about 13.5-14 million sales next year. This is a slight decrease compared to the 16 million-plus before the U.S. economic downturn, however. "Many people are just simply too afraid of the uncertainty," says Itay Michaeli, Vice President at Citi Investment Research about consumers' restricting number of cars per household and increasing number of drivers per car.
Even though the success in future car sales can still be viewed as unpredictable, sales team members at Volkswagen dealers like Fields VW of Daytona are confident that the automotive industry will turn around for the better.
