James Murphy, Michael Bradley, Tim Halloran and William Muñoz Recognized by California State Bar of Legal Specialization

To qualify as a certified specialist, a lawyer must be an active member of the State Bar of California and work in a particular specialty 25 percent of the working hours during the last five years. In addition to passing the certification test, the attorney must demonstrate a high level of experience in the specialty field, complete at least 45 hours of continuing education in the specialty and be favorably evaluated by other attorneys and judges.
A founding member of the firm, Murphy's practice emphasizes professional liability, including representation of lawyers in malpractice cases nationwide and judges in disciplinary proceedings before the California Commission on Judicial Performance, as well as general products liability litigation. He is a certified specialist in legal malpractice by the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys and chair of the State Bar of California Board of Specialization Legal Malpractice Consulting Group. Murphy is a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers, American Board of Trial Advocates and National Board of Trial Advocates. He earned his J.D. from the University of California, Davis (1974) and his B.S. from St. Mary's College of California (1971).
A founding member of Murphy, Pearson, Bradley & Feeney, Bradley serves as the firm's managing director. In his practice, Murphy handles all forms of civil litigation, with particular emphasis on professional and fiduciary malpractice. Active in the legal community throughout his career, Bradley is the President of the San Francisco Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He also serves on the board of CAL-ABOTA. Bradley received his J.D., Order of the Coif, from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law (1976) and his B.A., summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of New Hampshire (1973).
Halloran is an experienced trial lawyer and civil litigator focusing on cases involving legal malpractice, medical malpractice, real estate agent malpractice, copyright and trademark infringement, personal injury, real estate, business litigation and consumer rights. The author of 10 Ways to Avoid Legal Malpractice and other books, Halloran regularly lectures before the American Bar Association on Legal Malpractice. He is a Board Certified Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, as well as a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Halloran received his J.D. from University of California, Berkeley School of Law (1982) and his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley (1979).
Muñoz's practice focuses on the defense of professionals, including attorneys, real estate agents/brokers, real estate appraisers and insurance brokers. He is a member of the Sacramento County Bar Association Labor and Employment Section, and the American Bar Association Professional Liability Litigation and Employment and Labor Relations Law Committees. Muñoz also serves on the Defense Research Institute Professional Liability Committee and Labor and Employment Section and is a member of the National Association of Defense Counsel for Northern California. He received his J.D., cum laude, from the Hamline University School of Law (1997) and his B.S. in chemistry from the University of California, Davis (1991).
