Toyota: Kenosha fans can't wait for Toyota Extreme

Toyota's newest Tacoma model will please speed-loving consumers.

WAUKEGAN, IL (prHWY.com) November 4, 2011 - Toyota fans appreciate the car company's ability to produce immensely fuel-efficient vehicles while making breakthroughs in green technology. Now such consumers can look forward to another exciting product that will turn heads anywhere it travels.

At the 2011 Texas State Fair last month, Toyota introduced a pre-production Tacoma Toyota Racing Development (TRD) T|X (Tacoma Extreme) limited edition pickup truck. The model was inspired by Toyota's Baja racing heritage and displays graphics with the concept name, "Baja Series."

Bob Carter, Group Vice President and General Manager, Toyota Division, praises the popular pickup and expresses his excitement about the upcoming release: "The Tacoma has long been the sales leader by a wide margin in the compact pickup segment thanks to its well-earned reputation for stellar quality, durability, reliability and off-road capability. The limited edition TRD T|X Baja Series adds another chapter to Toyota's truck legacy by offering a new level of capability for off-road enthusiasts."

As far as powertrain is concerned, Toyota fans can look forward to a 4.0L V6 engine that is paired with either a six-speed manual or a five-speed automatic transmission. Other features include an electronically-controlled locking rear differential, Active Traction Control (A-TRAC), Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC) and Downhill Assist Control (DAC). The limited edition package will add BF Goodrich T/A KO tires and bead-lock style off-road wheels with an exclusive Gun-Metal Gray finish, as well as a TRD Cat-back Exhaust.

All models in the series will be built exclusively at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Texas (TMMTX) in San Antonio. Kenosha Toyota fans and consumers shopping Gurnee dealerships like Classic Toyota can expect to see a tangible model by late Spring 2012.
