New Flight Simulator Boasts Realistic Graphics, Hundreds of Airplanes and Thousands of Flight Environments
Flight simulation fanatics have a good reason to rejoice, because with ProFlightSimulator 2012, simulation has reached a whole new level of realism. ProFlightSimulator 2012 is now available for download on ProFlightSimulator2012.com, the long time home of the ProFlightSimulator franchise. ProFlightSimulator 2012 boasts 120+ aircraft, 20,000 airports and realistic terrain, making it the most expansive and the most realistic flight simulator on the market today.
Dan Freeman, the publisher of the ProFlightSimulator franchise, says that the newest instalment of ProFlightSimulator is the biggest and most realistic instalment to date. "This fully functioning flight simulator puts other flight sims to shame," says Freeman. "It was developed as an alternative to real professional flight simulators for flight training... it's the game flight fanatics have always wanted.
According to Freeman, ProFlightSimulator 2012 brings the features that flight enthusiasts have been screaming for for years. The terrain is based on real military satellite data, Freeman says, giving the game a level of realism that would have previously been impossible. There is also a bonus add-on for the game called "Interactive Scenery Designer," that allows user to design and build their very own terrain. This add-on will be bundled with ProFlightSimulator for a limited time as a bonus, says Freeman.
Among ProFlightSimulator's most innovative features is its real-world physical environment. Everything from the weather to the climate has been pain-stakingly designed to be as realistic as possible. The daylight hours have been made as realistic as possible for each flight environment; when you fly the Arctic Circle in the summer, for example, you get 24 hours of daylight.
The game also features highly detailed time of day modelling, so whenever you fly, the sun, moon and stars, etc, are positioned in the appropriate place in the sky. You are also given full control over the weather conditions in each environment, so you can fly under any conditions you want at any time.
Since launching, the critical reception for ProFlightSimulator has been overwhelmingly positive. Many early users site the game's vast world, customizable features and head-turning realism as features that make it stand out. "Everything is modeled very accurately," says Jim Hudson of the United Kingdom. "You get to control every switch, button and handle - very impressive!"
Other users tout the game's graphics as among the best features. "Been flying sims for over 20 years and this one's the best yet," says Mike Britt of Denver, CO. "Scenery and clouds look super realistic."
From seasoned pilots to flight students to amateur hobbyists, everyone, it seems, has good things to say about ProFlightSimulator 2012. This may not be a coincidence. According to Dan Freeman, the game was made to raise the bar. "ProFlightSimulator has fast become one of the most popular flight simulators on the market," he says. "If you are looking for the most realistic and complete flight simulator on the market, I urge you to get it while it's still cheap."
