Energy price cut announced for 2012
One of the UK's newest energy companies, Co-op Energy, will be reducing their energy prices in the New Year, it has been announced.

Following recent price rises by the Big Six energy companies (British Gas, Eon, EDF, Npower, Scottish and Southern, and Scottish Power) have been controversial as the wholesale prices and other costs have reduced in the last few months.
Co-op Energy spokesman Nigel Mason said: "We made a promise to our customers to give them the very best deal. This autumn's exceptionally mild weather has led to a drop in wholesale prices so we're passing on those savings."
Although currently the Co-op Energy only provides domestic rather than commercial energy, it is hoped that this price reduction will force many of the other energy suppliers to look at their pricing plans.
Business electricity and gas can be one of the biggest outgoings for many companies, so it is important for businesses to be sure that they look around to make sure that they are on the best tariff for their requirements.
Using a business electricity comparison site can help business owners and decision makers from companies of all sizes to check that they are on the best tariff for their requirements and switch suppliers if they find that they are paying more than they have to. Make sure that your energy isn't costing you more than you should be taking the time to research the market and choose a new supplier if you find one offering better value for money.
