It's Official; Darington Hobson Re-signs with the Milwaukee Bucks
Darington Hobson overcame obstacles to re-sign with the Milwaukee Bucks.

MILWAUKEE, WI- The Milwaukee Bucks have re-signed former University of New Mexico forward, Darington Hobson to their 2011-12 roster. After two major hip surgeries delayed the start of his rookie year in the NBA, the Las Vegas native is training hard to reassure the Bucks of their decision.
At age 24, Hobson is the epitome of an over comer. Hobson's prep years were plagued by bad advice. By graduation, he attended five different high schools in four different states after being ill advised to transfer schools to gain national exposure. Unfortunately, the multiple transitions left his advisors oblivious to the fact that he hadn't yet taken college admissions tests. As a result, Hobson was sidelined momentarily from the NCAA recruiting process until he provided potential schools with ACT scores. Quickly after, he was offered scholarships to several schools in the country.
After committing to UNM, Hobson tearfully said, "I always wished I was there, playing on that level. When I finally got there, I just sat in my room, thanked God and cried for a couple of hours because I finally got to the place where I always wanted to get." Although the left-handed addition to the team was doubted, he became the first Lobo to ever lead the team in points, rebounds and assists in the regular season. He was awarded the 2010 Mountain West Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year, making him the only player to ever achieve both honors in the same year. Hobson was also named to First-Team All-Mountain West and was one of twenty-six finalists for the John R. Wooden Award, which annually awards the most outstanding player in men's college basketball. This culminated in Hobson being named a 2010 Associated Press Third Team All-American.
Following the 2010 season, Hobson, (without an agent), was signed to the Milwaukee Bucks, with the 7th pick of the 2nd round. Immediately after, the surgeries sidelined him from not only the NBA Summer League, but also his entire rookie season. This resulted in the Bucks waiving him in 2010. However, Hobson refused to fold to doubt. He continued to work hard to exceed expectations, which led to the Bucks re-signing Hobson for the 2011-12 NBA season.
