Zagorje ob Savi, Slovenia (prHWY.com) January 10, 2012 - Oust.me project has began to develop from a simple idea - to bring together existing geolocation services (Foursquare, Gowalla, Facebook Places) and to allow users through Oust.me game to initiate building territories, instead of only collecting locations. The idea was born in the beginning of 2011 and in the mid-April 2011 we launched Private Beta and started inviting users.

Oust.me geolocation game is based on existing locations, which are being upgraded through Oust.me. Users have the opportunity to use their check-ins trying to make as many territories and thus compete with their friends, no matter which service they use.

But Oust.me game is not as easy as it looks at first glance. Three points (or more) which form the basis for a single territory, cannot be apart by more than two kilometers and in addition the user must be an Ouster at these three points - which is being calculated with a special algorithm, which overlooks the number of check-ins over the time. But there is another peculiarity in the formation of the territory - between these three points may not be the point where someone else is Ouster - this means that the game is becoming a strategic and users must plan, what points should be Ousted to increase their territories.

We have clearly outlined the direction we wish the Oust.me to follow - to become the geolocation platform, allowing users to self create own games within the Oust.me and to provide them with challenges which will give them additional points and to offer customers a real game experience in a virtual world, which is a reflection of their actions in the real world.

Playing real world game also in the virtual world is why people starts to play Oust.me.
