Victor E. Acevedo, Teacher, Helps Elderly In East Los Angeles
Victor E. Acevedo, teacher, works to help the elderly in our community.

And while Mr. Victor E. Acevedo has established a number of private non-profit groups, Mr. Acevedo is at it again. He has worked to deliver food, toiletries, and other essential services to the elderly.
His unique program also helps homeless with light construction, yard cleaning, and home maintenance.
"Many elderly in our community cannot lift heavy objects, organize, or even throw out items if they wanted to," Mr. Victor E. Acevedo said. "You can only imagine what little muscle and love would do to help the quality of life of the elderly."
Mr. Victor E. Acevedo, who has served as a teacher, refuses any payment for his services. However, he is always looking for volunteers with trucks who want to make a difference.
"We always are in need of strong people who have the ability to haul things away, help us clean, mow lawns, or fix a leaky faucet."
Mr. Acevedo started when a friend needed help and so did her neighbor. Soon, he found himself helping in a number of capacities to help those in need.
"Victor Acevedo has been so helpful with our home and the neighbor's home across the street," Dalia, who is 84 next month had said with tears in her eyes. "I wish I could pay him - and what does he do? He brings me warm food too. He is a good man. Victor is a good, good man. God bless him for what he has done."
Victor E. Acevedo has worked with the city's underprivileged kids in the hardest hit part of town and has developed a number of different programs on their behalf.
"Mr. Acevedo continues to inspire the children and help the elderly around here. If he doesn't stop, people will start thinking him the 'Robin Hood' of East L.A.," Felipe said, who is a student Mr. Acevedo had worked with and who helps out the elderly under his direction.
