Qatar Empowering Electricity Demand in Middle East

The Middle East's power sector is growing phenomenally, and among the GCC countries, Qatar is posting a robust growth in power demand, says RNCOS.

Noida, India (prHWY.com) February 8, 2012 - The power sector in the Middle East has proved its potentials in previous years, and is further projected to grow strongly. The region remains one of the strongest markets in the power industry. According to "Middle East Power Sector Analysis", a research report by RNCOS, Qatar posted record growth in power demand in 2010 among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, and by 2015, Doha's growing demand for power is set to increase by 10.8%. This can hurt the electricity demand in the residential segment, and may reverse the rate of growth in household electricity consumption.
