Gold Rush Poker: A Ruse

I would state that no online poker website has EVER treated their players so badly and being a US Subscription Poker site and with Real Money online poker still not allowed completely in US, GoldRushPoker is out to rob the players!

GAITHERSBUR, MD (prHWY.com) February 21, 2012 - It is often said that just because an apple looks all red and juicy on the outside, it doesn't guarantee that there wouldn't be worms inside. Well that certainly holds true in the case of a certain online subscription poker room called GoldRushPoker. They may have re-branded themselves (Following a Law Suit filed by MGM for the use of Gold Strike, which incidentally is the name of an MGM owned casino, it brings to mind how we hear of spam and unsafe sights using trusted names to draw out the public) but the management remains the same and the same shenanigans followed the new room as well.
GoldRushPoker claim to be the "ONLY USA LEGAL 3D POKER SITE" while the owners and top management are seen regularly playing on the site. How can this site be called as "LEGAL" if the CEO John George aka poker animal and his cronies like Bill Maloney aka Debonair are found playing regularly on the site?
GoldRushPoker seemed promising and why wouldn't it be? Their tagline read "Come mine your Gold", they showed an amazing collection of prizes in the prize vault and for a while it seemed as if the world was literally offered there. Well let me clarify, the tagline should have read "Come mine the gold for us!" and the prizes in the prize vault are as good and "redeemable" as the carrot is for the donkey! Boy, did I fall for it hook, line and sinker.
When GoldRushPoker launched I thought that at last! Here's an "honest" poker room where I can play with my friends and earn some money in the freerolls or gain some cool prizes. But I'm yet to see a penny of what me or my friends have won, my emails have disappeared just like their customer support which have not replied to my emails for months! Their prize vault has been shut down even longer.
At first GoldRushPoker brought in players with promises of playing "100% Legal Poker" (referring to the UIGEA) and dreams of winning some awesome gadgets and other cool stuff through their prize vault, BUT, the only way to redeem these funky gadgets was virtually impossible!
Why? They all had colossal price tags and NO ONE could reach that level even if they played consistently and won a whole lot of VIP Chip Tournaments! Furthermore, you'd be able to redeem one in let's say 5 months! Now, WHY WOULD I PLAY FOR 5 MONTHS DAY IN AND DAY OUT FOR 1 GADGET! Their CEO John George aka Poker Animal e-mailed the players once or twice to show fake concern however these gimmicks never lasted long nor did it ever solve the issues. Later GoldRushPoker left all pretenses and shut of the Customer Support so that players cannot get a reply, then they shut off the GoldRushPoker forum, "GoldShaft" so that they cannot come here as well and finally they have shut off the Prize Vault as well. If there was ever a GAG ORDER executed well, it was for all the GoldRushPoker players on "forums" and we even received an email from GoldRushPoker, TELLING us NOT to speak ill of the site, I have NEVER seen ANYTHING LIKE THIS!
Now do correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the whole point of a Subscription Poker Model that you pay a fixed amount of money every month and stand a chance to win some prizes or rewards? Well coming back to my original point we are certainly mining the gold for GoldRushPoker.
Overcharging and not paying back, not replying to queries, threatening players who complained, the list is endless; it went to such a level that some regulars finally had enough and launched their own poker tournaments website, all MOST of us at GoldRushPoker, now play on that website.
I had searched for reviews on GoldStrikePoker and I came across a forum where people spoke their mind about GoldRushPoker, do check out the site to see for yourself what the site and its management represents.

In response, they go on to hire some guy to write "Honest Reviews" for them on YouTube, well you will certainly find the "Honest Reviews" in the comments section.

To conclude, I would state that no online poker website has EVER treated their players so badly and being a US Subscription Poker site and with Real Money online poker still not allowed completely in US, GoldRushPoker is out to rob the players! Plain and Simple! They have outright swindled people out of their money and they do not seem to be in any mood to respond to our cries for justice. I was a loyal member of GoldRushPoker and I feel it is my duty to at least forewarn future victims. Well now that I think of it the management at GoldRushPoker certainly has a sense of humor. The name stands for quickly mining gold for them during this time of turmoil, GoldShaft where they have literally given their players the Shaft and last being VIP members which is a snide way to say that the players are indeed very important to us, how else will we mine our gold? How else indeed.
