delhi, India (prHWY.com) February 22, 2012 - The Galle Music Festival 2012 , the sister event of the Jaffna Music Festival returns to Galle in March. Promising to be as exhilarating as the Jaffna Festival the Galle festival will host an exciting line up of musicians, dancers, performers and ritualist at the Samalana Grounds in Galle. This year the focus will be on traditional and contemporary music and dance.
The local and International traditional folk artistes will lead simultaneous performances from Saturday to Sunday 10.00 a.m. - 1.00 p.m. followed by a main stage performance from 5.00 p.m. - 10.30 p.m. daily.
The aim of the Galle Music Festival is not only to showcase the diverse traditions and performers from the different regions of Sri Lanka but to also specifically introduce these traditional artists to school children and young people.
The Galle Music Festival, sister event of the Jaffna Music festival, will
bring together musicians from around the island for a free, two day open
air event of music on 3rd and 4th March 2012.

This festival will focus on folk and contemporary music with an emphasis
on the diverse and multi-cultural folk traditions of Sri Lanka.

International folk and contemporary musicians will also add to the exciting
line-up of local musical performances.
