Turkish Airlines and Air India Sign Free Sale Codeshare Agreement

Turkish Airlines, Europe's fastest growing airline company and Air India, the flag carrier airline of India, have now signed a Free Sale Codeshare Agreement after their previous blocked space codeshare agreement.

New Delhi, India (prHWY.com) March 1, 2012 - 1st March 2012, New Delhi: Turkish Airlines, Europe's fastest growing airline company and Air India, the flag carrier airline of India, have now signed a Free Sale Codeshare Agreement after their previous blocked space codeshare agreement. The new agreement will allow both the airlines to market each other's flights by their own code and flight numbers on a free sale basis.
With effect from 1st March 2012, the revised agreement will allow TK passengers a seamless connection to AI operated flights on Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata and Amritsar routes.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Adnan Aykac, General Manager, Northern and Eastern India, Turkish Airlines said, "We are delighted to enter the free sale codeshare agreement and join forces with Air India to offer our customers world-class gateway to 6 Indian cities. This partnership with Air India is aligned with our plans to further expand and strengthen our presence in this region. We look forward to working with Air India and providing even more travel options for our customers."

Turkish Airlines presently operates 14 weekly flights to Istanbul from Delhi and Mumbai. The airline also has plans to start new routes in some key cities of India in the near future and capitalize on the potential this region offers. With its rapid growth and world-class services, the airline is all set to capture the Indian market in the times to come.
