Toronto, CA (prHWY.com) March 3, 2012 - The citizens of Sherman Oaks are exposed to another serious threat in their city. Irresponsibility of government, and sluggishness of their actions, led the city on the edge of catastrophe. Sewer blockage in Sherman Oaks is now common, as sewer systems continue to collapse and threat of disaster becomes reality. One thing is certain; if catastrophe is about to be stopped, then something must be done, and it must be done quickly.

For twenty three years, local sewer system was maintained and repaired by Bob Tate, local developer and resident. Permissions issued for maintenance of this system expired long time ago, and Tate simply continued to maintain it even without permissions. Situation was not so bad, if we consider that Tate never charged a single dollar for doing this dirty job. Moreover, when in 2010, sewer blockage in Sherman caused a panic; Tate was a factor of calmness and composure, giving ideas to the city council and Association of residents how to deal with this serious problem. However, nobody was ever really interested to solve this problem. Installations of sewers were old; everybody knew that, and what government did about that? Nothing! Major shifted responsibility to the Association of Residents, Association called on responsibility Mr. Tate, and circle continues with no real desire for solutions in any side.
Citizens are first threatened on the list.

While government and Association are discussing who is responsible, their homes and their lives are in danger. Epidemic is a distinct possibility, especially in suburbs where local sewers system was never connected to the main sewer system in Sherman Oaks. Local fields are landfills of waste water, and horrible smell of this is now part of every - day lives. The fact that this is happening for years speaks for itself! If government is waiting disaster to react, surely that disaster is not impossible, and it can be expected very soon, but we have to wonder is this government really worth of our trust? Even the recommendations of Texas Commission for Environmental Quality issued in 2010 were not enough for our government to take necessary steps. Old sewer system is surely bad guarantee for better future, especially if nobody takes care about it, and someone should. If government is not capable for dealing with basic problems in Sherman Oaks then one has to wonder is that government capable of anything?

Association of Residents must take its part of responsibility cake too. Their inactivity and lack of interest led to sewer blockage in Sherman at first place. Members of this Associations are citizens of Sherman, and it is true wonder how they are being so uninterested. Their life is in danger too, and if they are not interested for protecting it, it is not clear who should be.
One thing is clear; while Association and government are holding meetings and discussing without any real result, concern following sewer blockage in Sherman grows bigger, and it is certain that something must be done in shortest time.
