Paan Singh Tomar : Real story of an athlete turned bandit

Director Tigmanshu Dhulia is going to serve his audience a different flavor with his upcoming movie 'Paan Singh Tomar'.

Mumbai, India (prHWY.com) March 4, 2012 - Director Tigmanshu Dhulia has brought a new interesting concept for his fans with 'Paan Singh Tomar'. 'Paan Singh Tomar' is a film based on the real story of a soldier - athlete who turned as a bandit later. The movie revolves around Paan Singh Tomar, who hailed from a small town in Madhya Pradesh. He won the steeplechase in the National Games for seven years in a row and his record stood unbeaten for a decade. After retiring, Tomar went back to his hometown and turned into a bandit in the Chambal Valley after becoming a victim of social injustice. He was killed in a police shootout and the movie "ends how his life ends". What Tigmanshu says that basically it's a sports film not a dacoit film. It's another story about another unsung hero.

Tigmanshu himself written the screenplay and adopted his favorite Irfan Khan to play the role of 'Paan Singh Tomar'. Dev D girl Mahie Gill would be the Co- star. Tigmanshu Dhulia is popular to raise the socio political issues in specific interesting manner. He has already collected fame for his making of 'Haasil'.
